Portrait of Aralesk, collage artist
I am Aralesk_
I don't make collages to reconstruct images. I make them to transform them.
Every piece is born from a lived moment, an emotion, a conversation, or a thought that refuses to disappear. I gather fragments, strip them of context, and put them back together to open doors to worlds where memory and imagination coexist without limits.
Art, fashion, design and music run through everything I create. Not as isolated references, but as a single language that shapes every composition.
Some stories need to stay still. Others demand movement. That's why my collages sometimes expand into animations made with After Effects or artificial intelligence, where every cutout finds a new rhythm and each transition extends the emotion of the image.
As the Mexican poet and thinker Rosario Castellanos wrote: «I don't want to be anyone's mirror. I want to be a window.» That idea runs through every one of my projects. I don't try to reproduce the world as it is, but to open new ways of looking at it. To create images that invite you to pause, to remember, to imagine, and to discover something that may have always been there, but hadn't yet been seen.
Sometimes images claim a different destiny. I never know where an image is going to end up. It starts out as a collage and, without my fully planning it, becomes a print, then fabric, then something that truly takes up space. Even my logo has caught that habit of never sitting still.
I'm fascinated by that crossing between disciplines. Watching the same idea change bodies without losing its essence. Because for me, creating isn't about closing a piece, but about leaving a window open so it keeps transforming.
